Where to find the three Runaway choco
As with the Kids on Patrol side quest in Chapter 8, you get clues as to where you can find the three Runaway chocos here, this time courtesy of Sam. The only thing here, though, is that those - these are spread across multiple areas, so you'll have to do a lot more exploring to find them.
The first clue reads "someone said he heard a Chogober chocobo in one of the alleys in Sector 5". You can start looking through the various lanes of the main part of the Sector 5 slums, but instead you want to head northeast out of Sector 5 and take the path past the graveyard area. Keep following him and eventually you'll come across a Chocobo. However, when you try to interact with him, a Rust Drake will appear that you must first defeat before you can drop a Gysahl Green and bring the Chocobo back to Sam.
Then the second Chocobo, which Sam tells you heard "a Chocobo by the collapsed highway". This one is pretty obvious on where to go, so head for the collapsed freeway. What you want to do here is take this route and fight all the enemies in your path. Fortunately, you won't have to redo the puzzles like before, so you should be able to navigate here. Eventually you will hear a "Kweh kweh" and that's when you know a Chocobo is nearby. Look around and you shouldn't have a hard time finding it. You'll have to defeat a trio of Trypapolis first, but then you can give him a Gysahl Green and he'll come back to Sam and he's ready to look for number three.
Finally, the latest Chocobo clue states "a Chocobo has been spotted near the old church." This means that you actually want to get to where the first Chobobo was and keep following the path until you meet Johnny. Keep going and you will eventually get closer to the church that Cloud fell into and had the confrontation with Reno before. Unlike the other two though, there is no fight until you can give this Chocobo a Gysahl Green and complete the quest.
