Genshin Impact Lantern Rite Guide

The Lantern Rite event has three bespoke parts: The All That Glitters story, the Lantern Rite Tales side quests, and the Theater Mechanicus activity.

After unlocking the Lantern Rite event in Genshin Impact by completing the 'Origin of the Lanterns' quest (which is a bit of a to-do, and you can read how here), you'll have access to quests that in turn unlock the Lantern Rite Tales and Theater Mechanicus activity. Once you've opened both, you'll have full access to the Lantern Rite event, to some extent. I know, it sounds confusing and there's quite a bit going on here, so let's make it easier to understand.

The Lantern Rite event at Genshin Impact has three parts that all feed off of each other, and you need to participate in each to unlock everything on offer. " Everything that shines " is the banner under which are grouped the three quests of the story of Lantern Rite. These story quests start with the “Origin of the Lanterns” introductory quests and include two more that both unlock on specific days. These quests must be completed to gain access to additional stages in Lantern Rite Tales, Theater Mechanicus, and the Xiao Market. These are the most important tasks to accomplish.

La Tales of the Lantern Rite act as the second content gate in the Lantern Rite event in Genshin Impact. This is a collection of event-themed side quests, and completing them earns you " Festive fever“Festive Fever is the reputation of the event, pure and simple. There are three stages: "," "," and "". Each stage unlocks additional scenes from Lantern Rite Tales and Theater Mechanicus, as long as you've completed the most recent “All That Glitters” story quests. In addition, you must reach the maximum rank of "Glow of a Thousand Lanterns" to choose a free character in "Stand By Me".

Mechanicus Theater fits into all of this as how you earn the Lantern Rite event currency, Peace talismans. Theater Mechanicus is a tower defense minigame where your elemental attacks and explosions crouch down, but you can use your elemental skills to unleash combos, push enemies, and create general havoc. As you complete the Mechanicus Theater challenges, you'll earn Peace Talismans, which are used in the Lantern Rite event store - the Xiao Market - to earn additional rewards. You also need 1000 Peace Talismans to claim your free “Stand By Me” character.

So, to break it all down:

  • Completed " Everything that shines " quests when they become available to unlock additional stages of Lantern Rite Tales and Theater Mechanicus, period.
    • "Currents Deep Beneath the Lanterns": February 14 at 01:00 PST
    • "Light Upon the Sea": February 18 at 01:00 am PST
  • knock out Tales of the Lantern Rite side quests to raise your Festive fever and unlock more Lantern Rite tales and Mechanicus theater stages.
    • You cannot rank until you have completed the " Everything that shines " story quest attached to this rank, so if you can run into a time gate if you are at the top of this activity.
  • Clear Mechanicus Theater stages and challenges to unlock additional stages and higher difficulties, which all reward Talismans of peace.
  • Spend Peace talismans Xiao Market for additional rewards, and save up to 1000 for a free character from “Support me. "

You see, it's not too terrible once you see how all the parts of the Lantern Rite come together in Genshin Impact. There is a very, Very important rub it all: you have to manufacture Lanternes Xiao to participate in the Lantern Rite Tales side quests and enter the Mechanicus Theater. Fortunately, they're pretty straightforward to craft, and the materials are pretty easy to acquire. For the sake of brevity, I've written a separate guide for Xiao Lanterns, but to summarize it here: Gather Plants, Mine Ore, and Kill Hilichurl, Elite Fatui, and Geovishaps to collect everything you need.

As an added bonus, all of the above have rewards attached to them outside of the Xiao Market, so you'll earn Primogems, Hero's Wits, Mora, and more for just participating. Remember, the Lantern Rite event at Genshin Impact ends February 28, so you'll want to get rid of everything by then. However, the Xiao Market and “Stand By Me” will remain open until March 7, so you'll have time to spend all your hard-earned Peace Talismans after the event ends.
