Camera, smartphone and images saved by Facebook have made your computer a kind of digital photo bazaar where it is practically impossible to juggle. You would need a quick and easy solution that can catalog your images and allow you to browse them in a more orderly way: how about Photo Collection?
Although it may seem trivial as a choice, the Photo Gallery application included in the package Windows Essentials Microsoft is the one that manages to best combine ease of use, system integration and advanced functions. If you want some advice, start using it and you will realize how to catalog photos on the PC can become simple and even fun.
Be vuoi scoprire how to catalog photos on the PC with Photo Collection, the first step you need to take is to connect to the Windows Essentials website and click on the item cityno to download the package that allows you to install all the programs of the suite on your PC.
When the download is complete open, double clicking on it, the file you just downloaded (wlsetup-web.exe) and, in the window that opens, first click on Yes and then on the button Select the programs to install. Then leave the check mark only next to the entry Photo Collection and Movie Maker and click on first Install and then Close to finish installing Photo Collection (e Movie Maker which must be installed together with the latter).
Now, start Photo Collection via its link in the menu Start> All Programs Windows and you will notice how in the sidebar of the program there are already folders with your photos saved in the directory Images. You can therefore browse your digital photos, organize them, retouch them and catalog them as you see fit.
There are various ways to catalog photos in Photo Gallery: you can apply gods to them tag (i.e. labels) to recognize them, you can tag people portrayed in them, you can indicate the geographic location where they were taken and much more.
To apply tags, captions and ratings (stars) to your photos, double click on their previews in the main Photo Collection screen and use the buttons in the toolbar at the top: by clicking on the button Tag and caption you can insert tags to describe the characteristics of the photo (e.g. holidays, birthdays, etc.), tag the people portrayed in them (as you do on Facebook), add a caption to describe the scene or classify the photo by assigning it from 1 to 5 stars; by clicking on the button Retouch you can correct brightness, colors and imperfections of the photo thanks to automatic filters, and so on.
You can also use Photo Collection to import photos from cameras, smartphones and other devices connected to the computer. All you have to do is click on the button Import located at the top left of the main screen of the program, select the unit from which to import photos and videos and wait for the elements to be imported to be counted.
Then put the check mark next to the item Review organizes and groups together elements of the group to be imported to organize the images to be imported on the PC in a precise way or put the check mark next to the item Import all new items now to automatically transfer all the new photos and videos in the selected device to your computer (and then to Photo Gallery) and click on the button NEXT but I will complete the operation.
Once the import is complete, you will be able to catalog and browse all the images transferred to your computer with Photo Collection based on various criteria. By going to the tab Find of the program, you can in fact choose to view the images in the Photo Collection library based on theirs Data, to the people who are tagged in them, to tag applied to photos, to the number of stars with which they have been classified, based on the changes they have undergone, and so on.
Just use the buttons on the software toolbar and select the options you want. Only the images matching the selected search criteria will be displayed on the main Photo Gallery screen - a great way to find the photo you want to see right away!
