For those who want to keep these settings, another thing you can do to make the game easier for yourself is making these planes more generic. By making them generic, they may not appear personalized or unique. However, it further reduces your computer's memory and CPU load. Go to the main graphics page in the general options, at the bottom bottom, verify that the options Use generic airplane models (air traffic) and Use generic airplane models (multiplayer) are both enabled.
