How to Find Your Own Home in Microsoft Flight Simulator

Although Microsoft Flight Simulator is not an exact replica of the world, it is extremely close. As such, you might have flown around and wondered if you could find your own home. There is a way to do this, but it will just take a little bit of work to be able to see if your own house is represented in the game.

Step 1

You will need to use an online service like Bing Maps or Google Maps to find the exact coordinates of your home. On both services, you can enter your address in the search bar to zoom in on your own home and place a pin there. On Bing, right-click on the pin that will appear on the map. At the bottom of the options that appear you will be able to copy the coordinates of your house. On Google Maps, click on "What's in here?" option to see your contact details.

Step 2

Copy the coordinates and open the Microsoft Flight Simulator world map. Paste the coordinates into the search box. A new option will appear in the "Custom" field below the search bar, and you can click on it to set it as a starting point or destination.

If you set your starting point, your plane will appear in the air above the location, so it can be difficult to find. You can always take off from the nearest airport and set it as your destination, making it easy to plan a good approach to see your own home.

You can use the Assistance menu for this, as it will be much easier for you to know exactly where your home is. You can configure it to show destination waypoints, then fly directly to the destination without having to fiddle with multiple maps.
