How to make fried chicken in Spiritfarer

Spiritfarer is a game aimed at helping wayward spirits move on to the afterlife, and one of those ways is to cook food for them. Still, it's surprisingly difficult to cook a simple meal like fried chicken, which Atul will ask you for very early in the game.

The problem, however, is that it asks for fried chicken long before you can cook it. You will need to reach the point where you can pass the barrier in the southeastern part of the world.

Once you're able to do the quest, however, it's pretty straightforward. So let's break it down:

The two ingredients you will need are the chicken (obviously) and the fat.

How to get chicken

Chicken is pretty easy to get. You just have to buy the meat from someone who sells it. If you can find Oxbury Island, you can buy all your meat there.

How to get fat

Now comes the more complicated part because it is not easy to figure out how to get fat. But we can describe it to you:

Build a crusher

You will need to build a grinder to create oils (also fats) from sunflower seeds and olives. In order to build the crusher, you will first need to get the building blueprints. You will receive Bruce and Mickey's blueprints at Southpoint Docks. Complete their quest and they will give you the blueprints.

Once you have the blueprints, you will need the right materials to construct the building: 7 Pulsar Ingots, 15 Ash Planks, and Zinc Ingot. Both Ingots can be found by playing the game, and the Ash Plank can be crafted with the Ash Log in the Sawmill.

Create fat

Now it's time to make some fat with the crusher.

You can use two items for this: olives or sunflower seeds. Grinding will give you an oil, which is also a fat that you can then use to make the fried chicken. Chances are you've come across a lot more sunflower seeds than olives on your trip, so you'll probably use them for this.

Cook the fried chicken

With these two ingredients in your possession, you can finally prepare the fried chicken. Just cook it and give it to Atul to satisfy his craving.

And just like that, you're done. When you know what to do, it's not too bad a quest; it's just a matter of when you can do it and what ingredients you will need.

Spiritfarer is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia.
