Roller Champions is an upcoming free multiplayer sports title from Ubisoft. Two teams of three players will compete in a roller derby, as they attempt to control the game point and score goals. Roller Champions differentiates itself from the likes of Rocket League through tackling and direct cooperation between players. You can take out other players with a tackle or team up with someone on your team for a combo hit.
When is the alpha closed?
The closed alpha will run from 9:00 a.m. PDT on March 11 to 13:00 p.m. PDT on March 23. Preloading for those entering will begin on March 9.
How to access the closed alpha
If you wish to participate in the closed alpha you will need to register at the official Roller Champions website. The closed alpha will only be on PC. Enter your e-mail address after clicking on the "Register now" button. If you don't get an invitation to the closed alpha, it's worth signing up anyway, as you'll automatically be invited to the next beta.
People with access to the closed alpha will be able to invite two other people from their Uplay friends list to join them. The alpha will allow you to create groups and play in a team of three matches.
According to Ubisoft, the Closed Alpha will contain the following new content, so this is what you can expect if you've managed to play Roller Champions at a convention or trade show:
<br>• New arena: Chichen Itza. Our biggest and most spectacular arena yet.
<br>• Character creation and customization system. Choose from many options to create your character and customize your outfit!
<br>• Changing the map layout: Curvature, elevation, and other environmental elements have been changed to improve navigation and gameplay.
<br>• New team movements: Grapple Boost, Grapple Double Jump et Grapple Double Pump
<br>• New wrestling movements: Extended tackle and Aerial tackle!
Information will not transfer from alpha or beta to version, but participants will receive special items when the game is launched.
