How to win Armed and Dangerous in Apex Legends

Limited-time game modes are definitely a staple of Apex Legends, and this one is no different. While some game modes change the map or alter how the ring works, Armed and Dangerous is all about guns.

What is armed and dangerous?

Armed and Dangerous is a game mode where you start with a Mozambique with a Holo 1x optic and a level 1 Evo Shield. The ring progression is the same, but the guns have taken some of it out. Say goodbye to midrange and speed because there is no energy, light or heavy weapons. That's right, this game mode is all about snipers and shotguns.



Loot like a pro

In this game plus there are nine weapons in total: 4 shotguns and 5 sniper rifles. This includes two ancient weapons: the Peacekeeper and the Kraber.

Normally, Heirloom weapons are stored in care packages, but in Armed and Dangerous you actually have a chance to find them in the field. If you have the chance to get any of these rare weapons in your arsenal: do so. But remember, they have a fixed amount of ammo.

Gold or Fully Equipped Weapons are also available and are not locked in Season 6 Kits. The best fully equipped pistols for this game mode are the Golden Charged Rifle and Golden EVA-8 Rifle, but don't let pass a mastiff or a triple take either.

Get ready or shut up

In this game mode, you should always have a shotgun in the first slot and a sniper in the second. You want to get rid of your Mozambique as soon as possible and replace it with any other shotgun. You will also want to have a shotgun bolt on your weapon, especially on the mastiff.



When it comes to sniper rifles, the Charge Rifle is your best bet as it will have a punch at long range, but if you remove the optics you can also use it as a close range last effort. if you run out of shotgun ammo. That said, if you're all about a long-range hit, the longbow is the way to go.

For optics, getting your hands on the digital threats lens is a game-changer, whether it's putting the 1x on your shotgun or the 4x10x on your sniper.

Battle at two distances

With both short and long range your only options, the fights will be very different from the regular game. Here are two major strategies useful for Armed and Dangerous.

Two relatives, one back

Fight where two of your players have shotguns and are in the face of enemy teams, while one of you is perched on high ground and deals severe sniper damage to the enemy team, it's hard to compete with that unless the enemy does the same.


Weaken, then bring down

This strategy requires having both height and the element of surprise. Try to weaken an enemy team via sniper fire until you take one down. Then use a mobility ability like Pathfinder's Zipline, Loba's Jumpdrive, Octane's Springboard, or Wraith's Portal to jump and take out the two remaining enemies with your full team at close range. It also works if you are only high and not far horizontally. Then you can just jump in, no additional mobility is required.
