Meizu M1 Note review: the iPhone 5C with Android!

Meizu con M1 Note stays true to its formula, providing a device with excellent specifications for an affordable price. Although, overall it looks just like an iPhone 5C larger in size, once you use it a little deeper, you will realize that it is a really good Android device with great performance. Thanking GrossoShop.net for providing us with the test terminal, today we review it for you!

Design

It can't be avoided, this phone is clearly inspired by the iPhone with its rounded design, colored glossy plastic shell, even the speaker is clearly the same. And the central button what it reminds you? Yes, just the home button on the iPhone, except the button on the M1 Note it is of the soft touch type. On the top we find the power button and the headphone jack and on the bottom we find the speaker and the microUSB port. On the right side the trolley for the two microSIMs and the volume rocker. Very special thing, the buttons share the same materials as the rear shell device and protrude just enough to make them easy to spot.

Display

On the front display we find a 5,5 inches with FullHD resolution, resulting in a pixel density of 401 ppi, protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. This is a very bright and lively display. Sure, there are times when the colors are a little too warm with a slightly yellowish hue, but that's not noticeable in most cases other than at night. With this display definitely you will be able to enjoy great moments including watching videos or playing games.

Hardware

Under the hood, the Meizu M1 Note takes its power from a MediaTek MT6752 processor 64-bit octa-core clocked at 1.7 GHz and supported by the GPU Mali-T760 e 2 GB of RAM. MediaTek with its new processors is certainly catching up, as seen in the case of M1 Note but also the already seen Lenovo K3 Note. Navigating around the various elements of the user interface is a pleasant experience and general tasks are performed discreetly. The benchmark results aren't the most impressive we've seen, but at the very least it is about on par with last year's best devices. M1 Note also offers the support for 4G networks but if you decide to buy it, don't forget to check compatibility with your manager. On the battery front we find a capacious 3.140 mAh but battery life is still pretty average, yielding a full day's life with average use which can vary from user to user.

Software

In execution we find 4.4.4 Android Kitkat, with the proprietary interface Flyme OS. An update to Android 5.1 is expected in the not too distant future, but there is no precise timetable revealed by Meizu. Apple's inspiration is not limited to design alone but also to the software where we find evident signs in the icons, in the launcher without app drawer etc. At least the screen lock screen has been spared: it is in fact possible to unlock the device with a double tap or by swiping upwards from the home button. Upon entering the Settings menu, the stock Android user can take a little longer to get used to this layout. Of course, if things get too complicated, you always have the option of downloading a third-party launcher that will help alleviate some of the interface problems.

Camera

For the vast majority of consumers, the camera is the most important aspect when it comes to buying their smartphone, and the Meizu M1 Note bring good cards to the table to play with his back camera from 13 MP with dual LED flash and a 5 MP front sensor. The images you get with this camera are pretty good, though not comparable to what one would expect from a flagship device. A nice job has certainly been done and is more than just a passable camera. What it lacks in image quality, Meizu makes up for it in the software giving you one integrated manual mode, allowing anyone with a knowledge of photography to take great photos. Especially you will need it in low light conditions. Other modes available are that Panorama and HDR, a face beauty mode and the ability to shoot slow-motion video.

Conclusions

The Meizu M1 Note is available on GrossoShop.net for about 260 euros with free shipping from Europe but, as mentioned, don't forget to check network compatibility with your carrier before getting one. Honestly, at this moment, given the arrival of his successor, we do not feel like recommending the purchase, also because it is for sale at a much more competitive price, it has pre-installed Android Lollipop 5.1 and follows the new aesthetic line of Meizu that is hooks to Mx4 Pro. If, despite everything, M1 Note has convinced you and you intend to buy it below I leave the link for the purchase from our trusted supplier:
