Nuki launches rechargeable batteries for its smart lock and creates the Nuki Club

Nuki, a leading European developer of intelligent access technology, presented its latest innovations and products in an online presentation parallel to the celebration of IFA 2020. Company CEO Martin Pansy announced the arrival of the Nuki rechargeable battery Power Pack, the launch of a limited edition of the blank lock, the creation of the Nuki Club, a meeting point for the Nuki user community through which customers can obtain exclusive benefits, and the availability of a new security service .

“At Nuki we work for constant improvement, including in the area of ​​sustainability. Offering rechargeable batteries for our lock has been one of our priorities in previous years and we are very proud to be able to present the new Nuki Power Pack, ”explains Pansy. "Furthermore, we wanted to reward our most loyal users with the creation of the Nuki Club, where they will find all our news and updates, as well as being able to access exclusive offers".

Nuki Power Pack rechargeable batteries for Smart Lock

The Nuki Power Pack eliminates the batteries that were previously required to operate the Nuki Smart Lock. This battery doubles the capacity of conventional AA batteries and keeps the lock in operation for 12 months on a single charge. It also allows you to precisely check the remaining battery via the Nuki app, which alerts users when less than 20% is left. The battery can also be recharged without being removed from the lock using a type C cable included in the package.

Nuki Power Pack meets one of the most common requests of Nuki users and makes the use of the smart lock more sustainable. The battery will be available from October at a price of € 49 in the Nuki online store, and is compatible with all Nuki Smart Lock models.

Nuki White Edition, a new color to find harmony at home

Nuki users also asked to expand the range of available colors of the smart lock. “Our inquiries tell us that customers would like to have the Smart Lock in white, as many of the doors are this color on the inside,” explains Martin Pansy. "That is why we decided to create Nuki White Edition, a limited edition in white that allows you to create more harmony in the decoration of the home and which will be available exclusively in the Nuki online store from October". Customers who want to ensure they get one of the limited units can sign up to be notified when they are available.

Nuki Club: news, offers and exclusive updates

Nuki was born thanks to a community, made up of those people who believed in the project and decided to support it through donations on Kickstarter. This group sentiment led the company to create a developer forum to improve its functionality and always listen to user requests, developing peripherals such as Opener or compatibility with home assistants.

"We want to reward all our users by giving them the opportunity to get to know us better through our new Nuki Club. Registration is optional and free, and those who decide to join us will receive an exclusive welcome gift, will be able to access all the news and updates, and take advantage of home automation offers both in our store and in those of our partners, ”describes Martin Pansy. "The creation of this space is an idea that I had in mind since the crowdfunding campaign, so we are very pleased to finally be able to launch it this September".

The Nuki installation service is born

Pansy also announced the availability of a new installation service, complemented by a team that will be responsible for assembling and configuring Nuki Smart Lock, Nuki Opener and other add-ons requested by new customers. “In the purchase process in the Nuki online shop, users will be able to add the installation service. The technicians will be in charge of checking the compatibility of the existing lock and intercom, installing the products, configuring them and showing all their functions ”, describes the CEO of Nuki.

Currently, the installation service will be available from September in Vienna, Munich, Berlin, Düsseldorf and Cologne, and is expected to be extended to new European cities soon.
