Scarlet Nexus - Release Date, Gameplay, Characters & More

Scarlet Nexus was revealed in May as part of the Inside Xbox event. The JRPG set in a dystopian cyberpunk world has an anime-inspired art style and is developed by the team behind the Tales titles. Here's everything you need to know about the game.

Release date

As of yet, the Scarlet Nexus release date has not been revealed. While some retailers list the release date as December 31, 2021, this is likely a surrogate date. Considering the fact that there is no update on the release date yet, it is safe to say that the game will not be released until 2021.

gameplay

Scarlet Nexus has a pretty unique combat system, which consists of flashy swordplay mixed with supernatural powers. At first glance, it seems like a perfect candidate for the hack and slash genre, however, the developer has pointed out that the game is essentially an RPG and not an action game.

There's a pretty unique ability that the protagonist named Brain Link, and players will be able to utilize party member abilities using that ability. The party system plays a crucial role in the entire RPG aspect of the game, as each battle will be fought alongside them and players can also learn about each character's background.

story

Scarlet Nexus takes place in the future, where a strange life form named “Others” has invaded the earth and poses a threat to humanity. In the town of New Himuka, scientists have found a way to bestow psychokinetic powers on people, and they form a team of warriors, called the “Other Suppression Force” (OSF), to eliminate the others.

Characters

Scarlet Nexus will have two playable characters, with even more OSF characters in the game. The story will remain the same, however, players will be able to experience it twice from each of the two characters' perspectives. . Yuito Sumeragi and Kasane Randall will be the two playable characters. The other OSF characters will be Gemma Garrison, Tsugumi Nazar and finally Luka Travers.

While Scarlet Nexus was announced during the Inside Xbox event, it was later announced that it will also be released on PlayStation. Scarlet Nexus will arrive on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and Steam.
