While Player Unknown's Battlegrounds is best known for its presence on PC, its console community is strong and growing.
When you have a game like this on console, you're bound to encounter hiccups, such as more precise control. The game's defaults, while acceptable, are not the best option for you.
Changing your settings (controls, video, audio, etc.) is essential to take your game to the next level. But it can be quite overwhelming and frustrating when you first access your settings with all the options available.
Fortunately, we have what we think is the best setup you can use to prepare your chicken dinner.
As with all things like this, feel free to experiment and play around with these settings to get the perfect setting for you.
Controller Settings
- Controller Button Preset - Type B
You'll want to switch it immediately to Type B so you can use the left trigger to aim down the sight. This is the preset preferred by professional players and is generally considered the best way to play. - Inverse X-axis / Y-axis
It is up to you to decide if you want to reverse this. - Right joystick dead zone
Changing this can help if your joystick has a drift. This changes the range that your staff can move before initiating on-screen movement. - Stick gauche dead zone
It should probably be the same as the right joystick, but could differ depending on how the drift affects it. - Vibration
Another preferential thing. If you like getting vibration feedback, turn it on.
Sensitivity
- Sensitivity forward - 10
This setting controls how consistently you can move in a straight line. - Sensitivity to motion - 8-20
Having that number higher will make it move faster, so if it feels too fast or too slow, you can play with that number. - Vertical sensitivity multiplier - 75-100
Not many players know how to use this setting, and it can really help you once you master it. This makes vertical movement faster than horizontal movement. - Overall sensitivity - 20
Higher sensitivity allows you to look around and investigate much faster. - Driver sensitivity - 10
This is completely preferential. - Target acceleration - on.
This allows you to move your reticle much faster when circling around, which is very useful. - Target acceleration rate - 4
It's a good level in the middle. You can adjust accordingly. - Over-the-shoulder targeting sensitivity
It's up to you and how you like to play. It all depends on your comfort.
Sensitivities can cause a lot of problems in the game, as they can completely mess up your reaction times and skills. Developing muscle memory along with your sensitivity is extremely important to play well.
Targeting sites
- Optical sensitivity 1X - 3
- Range Sensitivity 2X - 3
- Range Sensitivity 3X - 3
- Range Sensitivity 4X - 5
- Range Sensitivity 6X - 5
- Sensitivity of range 8X - 5
- 15X Range Sensitivity - 6
Again, all of these sensitivities are important to learn to play to the best of your ability. It should be noted that the 15X range is incredibly slow, so it is important to increase it.
Playing settings
- Language
Whatever language you speak/read. - Multiplatform game - SUR
Since cross-play is only between PS4 and Xbox One, enable this option to reduce wait times. - Game DVR - disabled
It's really up to you; we love that the notifications don't always pop up and the clips take up space - Killfeed type - Graphical
The Graphics setting takes up less space on your screen. - Color blindmode
It depends on whether you are color blind and what type you are. - Grid color
Your choice, but we recommend you choose something that doesn't blend in. - Tips on On-Screen Buttons - Disabled
- Network debugging statistics - disabled
- Compass background - disabled
- Automatic gun skin replacement
It's not really an important parameter. - Default shooting modes: single
It's just the easiest way to play and is the best option when getting into a gunfight. - Camera position with TPP target, Reset to right shoulder.
- Automatic reloading - enabled
Help make sure you don't get caught without a ball loaded and ready. - Accessories for automotive equipment - enabled
Really helps save time when looting. - Self-equipped visors - disabled
Enabling this option can cause problems when equipping a scope you don't want. - Automatic accessory replacement: enabled
- Radio message
Preferred, but Quick Ping can be useful in the game.
Audio settings
The settings here are designed to help reduce any annoying noise. helps accentuate noises that affect your playing.
- Main Volume - 100
- Playback volume - 100
- User interface volume: 25-75
Depends on preference. - Music - disabled.
Graphics settings
- Field of view - 92
A high field of view can help you detect more enemies. When you go above 92, you start getting diminishing returns. - Brightness: normal to high
Depending on your monitor / screen and your eyesight, you should keep it as it is or higher. - Universal brightness for all cards - disabled
The best thing to do is to customize each card individually, but it can be time consuming, so it's up to you.
With this setup, we guarantee you can take your game to the next level. Of course, some of them can be changed and used, so feel free to find the right solution.
Once you've done that, buckle up, step up and have chicken dinner.
