In The Outer Worlds, you will need to go find Gladys on the Groundbreaker. You'll be looking to buy him a navigation key, but you'll also be able to go there for a mission called The Distress Signal. This will send you to a new area on Terra 2 called Roseway.
The Outer Worlds - The Distress Signal Quest Guide
Gladys will ask you to check a distress signal from Roseway. When you get there, the colony was attacked by wild beasts and a lot of people died.
You can speak with three scientists scattered around the colony. Each will have their own quest, asking you to collect different items. Accept all quests, but keep in mind that you can complete them or bring them back to Gladys. You need 10 Bits to purchase the Navigation Key from here, and the items for these quests will cover the cost.
- Anton Crane - He wants you to find his research in a side quest called The Doom That Came To Roseway. Her research takes place in a hidden lab (marked on the map above by B) and a woman named Cassandra has discovered that you need to help her. He will also give you a side quest called By His Bootstraps, to find his missing protégé.
- Orson Shaw - He's working on a gun and will give you a side quest called Vulcan's Hammer, but left the blueprints for the depot, marked on the map above by A.
- Vaughn Cortes - He did research on aphrodisiacs. His experiment can be found in the secret lab where you will find Anton's notes. He will give you a side quest called The Amateur Alchemist.
Just collect all the items and return them to the scientists, or bring them back to Galdys to help pay for the navigation key.

Go to the point indicated on the map, then go down the stairs. The plans will be on the wall above a bench in the center of the room.
Anton Crane Research
You have to get this from Cassandra. You'll need a security key to release it, so follow this guide to find it.
Vaughn Cortes Experiment
You can find his experiment in the Hidden Lab, in the area marked with the red X.
