With the new Buddy Adventure system in Pokémon GO, you'll have noticed the revamped Buddy Profile page and Buddy Hearts. These buddy hearts measure the affection you deserved from your buddy that day. You can earn the following number of Buddy Hearts each day, for a total of 10.
- Walk together, two kilometers, up to three times a day - up to three hearts
- Treat your boyfriend to a treat - up to three hearts
- Playing together - one heart
- Fight together in a coaching battle or in a gym - one heart
- Take a snapshot of your boyfriend - a heart
- Visit a new place with your buddy by spinning a new Poké Stop - a heart
If you want, you can buy a Poffin for 100 gold, which will double the number of hearts you can earn that day in each category, to a maximum of twenty hearts. This will allow you to rank your buddy level faster. The Poffin will keep your Pokemon friend excited for six hours, so make sure you only use them when you are sure you can earn all twenty hearts during that time.
You will need the following number of hearts to level your buddy through the different levels:
- Good Buddy - requires a heart
- Great Buddy - requires 70 hearts in total
- Ultra Buddy - requires 150 cores in total
- Best friend - requires 300 hearts in total
So, to achieve the rank of best friend, you will need to earn ten hearts per day for 30 days, or 20 hearts per day for 15 days.
